Leela Narayan Shetty Centre for Neurosciences & Research inaugurated at KSHEMA

Mangaluru, April 30, 2016 : Dr K. Narayan Shetty, a eminent cardiologist from Pittsburgh, USA inaugurated the Leela Narayan Shetty Centre for Neurosciences and Research at a function held at KS Hegde  Auditorium at Derlakatte on April 29, Friday.

The Centre has been named after Dr. Narayan Shetty’s wife Leela Shetty and is an extension of the Centre for Advanced Neurological Research which is also  an institution in memory of Leela Shetty.

Speaking on the occasion, N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University  said the Centre has been set up with the objective of providing modern and affordable treatment  to the needy. He also stated that the newly opened centre is the first of its kind to be set up in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and  coastal Kerala. He further expressed his gratitude to all those who helped in making the Centre a reality.

Dr. K. Narayan Shetty, former Lokayukta Justice  Santosh Hegde, Dr Narayan Shetty’s daughter Neena Shetty, Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University,  Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Hospital Management and Medical PG Studies, Prof. Dr. M. S. Moodittaya, Registrar of Nitte University and many others were present.
