Leaders of local Cong resigns and joined the BJP

Mangaluru, Nov 09 2019:  District Congress Committee former spokesperson Shashiraj Ambat, district Youth Congress former president Arun Coelho and district Youth Congress General Secretary Varun Raj Ambat, who had identified themselves within the close circle of veteran Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary tendered resignation to the primary membership of Congress.

In a letter to DCC President K Harish Kumar, they said, “The Congress for the past few years is moving away from the principles of secularism. While promoting leaders who have migrated to the party, senior leaders like Janardhan Poojary had been neglected. There is a feeling of suffocation in the party. Hence, all of us have decided to tender resignation to the primary membership of the party.”

They were extended a warm welcome by BJP state president and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel by handing over BJP flag and draping the party shawl around them.
