Latha Kini unanimously elected as KCCI president

Mangalore, July 28: Latha R. Kini, an award-winning woman entrepreneur, has been elected to the post of president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). She is the 49th president of the KCCI and its first woman president. 


Mrs. Kini was the vice president of the chamber when G. G. Mohandas Prabhu was the president of the KCCI. She was unanimously elected as the president during the chambers’ 70th annual general body meeting held today.

Mrs. Kini, who won a gold medal in Mangalore University, also served as the managing partner of Pilot Paints and Bell Paints at Baikampady. She won the Karnataka State Award in 1992 – 93 in the best woman entrepreneur category in recognition and appreciation of her contributions to commerce and industry. 


Latha Kini’s husband R. D. Kini was the president of the KCCI in 2003 – 04.
