Last rites of IPS officer Madhukar Shetty held at home town Yadadi

Udupi, Dec 30, 2018: The last rites of IPS officer Dr K Madhukar Shetty were held at his hometown Yadadi near Shiriyara of Kundapur taluk on December 30, Sunday with full state honours  in the presence of his family, friends, relatives and a host of admirers.

Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, SP Lakshman Nimbargi, DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader, Additional DC of Udupi Vidya Kumari, senior police Pratap Reddy, Arun Chakravarthi, MLAs Halady Srinivas Shetty, Sukumar Shetty, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, former minister Jayaprakash Hegde were among those who paid their last respects to the late  IPS officer who  breathed his last at a hospital in Hyderabad after contracting H1N1.

His daughter Shamya, wife, brother Murali Shetty and others were present.  Known as an upright officer, Madhukar Shetty had been serving as Deputy Director of Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel National Police Academy at Hyderabad. He had played a key role in investigating the illegal mining case in the state.
