LPG cylinder explosion : 14 yr old girl dies, parents, brother critically hurt

Mangalore, April 4, 2014 : A 14 year old girl lost her life while  her parents and elder brother sustained critical burn injuries when the LPG cylinder in the residence of the watchman of an apartment at Kadri Kambala exploded during the wee hours of April 4, Friday.

 

 

 

The deceased girl is Bharathi. Her mother Bhagya (35),  father Shivananda (40) and Anjaneya (15) her brother  who were seriously injured have been rushed to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 4.40 am when Shivananda, the watchman  on sensing gas odour, entered the room and switched on the light. There was a loud explosion and Bharati who was fast asleep with her mother and brother died on the spot.

The fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot extinguished the fire. It is learnt, Shivananda  who hailed form Haveri resided in a room on the upper floor while his wife and children slept in a room on the ground floor.

Kadri police have registered a case.
