It is stated this girl studied in six different countries of the world till ninth standard as her father is a deputy director in SAARC. As her father was posted at Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bhutan, Uganda, Mumbai, Hubballi, and Tumakuru, she had not taken up Kannada. Her parents admitted her in Kundapura  for the SSLC class and she had to choose Kannada as her second language for her studies in 10th standard. Shreya’s family speaks Konkani at home.

She opted for Kannada as it is the language of the state where she is studying. With little knowledge of Kannada, she took writing and reading of Kannada as a challenge and worked hard to excel in the language.

School Principal Joyslen and Kannada teacher Prashanth Lewis said, “This student was absorbing all that was taught to her in the class. Her hard work, attention and single minded effort got her such a result.”

Shreya Kamath, is also good at drawing, swimming, poetry,  skating, dance and singing. She has won several prizes for her extra curricular activities.  She scored 600 marks in SSLC examinations. It is indeed a laudable achievement, she is wished well in her future.
