Kundapur origin man stabbed to death in Belagavi

Kundapur, Sep 16, 2021: A man from Kundapur origin who was running a paan beeda shop at Belagavi was stabbed to death at Belagavi on Tuesday night.

 

The deceased is Balakrishna Shetty (54) hailing from Hiliyana near Goliyangady. A person named Dattatreya alias Datta Shivananda has been arrested. It is said the accused had  come to Shetty’s shop to purchase Gutka earlier in the day. The two had a quarrel when Shetty asked the man to pay for the Gutka. Infuriated by this, he had threatened to kill Shetty.

Fearing his life Shetty had closed his shop and had  sought shelter in the house of an acquaintance. Later at night when he returned home, the accused barged in and stabbed him to death.

Shetty was running the paan beeda shop in Belagavi since 35 years.
