Kundapur cops secure body warrant of jewellery shop theft accused

Kundapur, June 23, 2016:   A person wanted in connection with the robbery in a jewellery shop near Kota Market after attacking the owner, is presently in the custody of the Kota Police after the latter secured his body warrant from the Goa Police.

The accused is Chandrakanth Beese (22) of Goa. Another accused named Prathamesh is in the custody of Goa Police while the third accused is said to be at large. The theft in Durga Jewellers near the Kota market had taken place on May 21.

While escaping from the jewellery shop when locals rushed to the help of the shop owner  Ravindra Acharya, the accused had  abandoned their yellow coloured bike of Goa registration, giving the hint that they were from Goa.

It is learnt the trio had arrived in Kundapur after killing an elderly lady who was the owner of the Paying Guest accommodation.  It is learnt they were also wanted in several other cases.

The accused  Chandrakanth has been produced before Kundapur court and he has been remanded to four days of police custody.
