Kundapur : Man ends life after killing wife, two sons

Kundapur, Nov 28, 2019:   A 50  year old man from Settoli near Soorgali in Belve village of Kundapur taluk has committed suicide after hacking to death his wife and two sons. The shocking incident came to light on November 27, Wednesday night at around 8 pm.

Sooryanarayana Bhat  is the man who committed suicide after killing his wife Manasa (45) and sons Sudhindra (14) and Sudesh (8). The body of Manasa and her two sons were in a decomposed state.

According to preliminary information, Sooryanarayana had  first hacked his wife with lethal weapons and later  gave  poison to his two sons before ending his life.

Udupi SP Nisha James and senior officials have visited the spot.

Sooryanarayana who was a farmer was also into catering and also assisted in  the cooking works at Mandarthi Temple.  He also used to cook for functions. His wife was from Mysuru. The couple’s elder son  Sudhindra was a fifth standard student  while Sudesh was studying in third standard at a private school in Hebri.

Locals say the family was quite well off. However the reason behind the  horrific act is still a mystery, Police suspect the incident took place during Tuesday night or  day time

Sooryanarayana’s brother Prakash stayed nearby and on noticing the lights in the house not switched on went there along with a local resident when the incident came to light.
