Kundapur: Makkala Mitraru protests against brutal murder of pregnant woman

 Kundapur, April 23, 2015:  Members of an organisation named Makkala Mitraru  and Concerned for Working Children (CWC) took out a procession from the Shastri Circle to the Assistant Commissioner’s Office in the town on April 22 in protest against the alleged rape and murder of a pregnant woman named Indira Mogaveera at Beejadi  recently.

The protestors who submitted a memorandum to the AC and the police authorities have demanded measures to see to it that such ghastly incident did not recur.They also demanded the strictest of punishment to the guilty in this case and also sought steps to ensure safety of women.

The protestors also urged for steps to put an end to illicit liquor  trade  and also to increase police patrolling during night time to avert thefts and other criminal cases.

Charulata Somal, Assistant Commissioner, Diwaker , Circle Inspector received the memoranda from the protestors.
