Kundapur: Love failure drives Junior Health Inspector to suicide

Kundapur, Aug 17, 2015: A Junior Health Inspector at Devalkunda Primary Health Centre has reportedly committed suicide at his residential quarters at Devalkunda  on August 15. The deceased is K Kiran Kumar (27), son of Chitradurga ASI Kencharappa. The suspicion is that  Kiran chose the drastic step due to love failure.

Kiran who had joined the Health Department in 2010 was initially serving in Gangolli PHC. Since the past one year he was posted at Devalkunda PHC as Junior Health Inspector.

Sources said Kiran was in love with a local girl and that it was a one-way love. A dejected Kiran is reported to have hanged himself on the night of August 15. The suicide came to light the next day.

It has been gathered that an ASHA worker  had tried to contact Kiran over phone  on August 16 but in vain. She even tried to contact Kiran through a health Assistant at Gangolli. But when he did not respond to phone calls, they visited his residence and had to break open the door only to find him hanging.

Kundapur Police are investigating the case.
