Kundapur : Krishnaiah Mogaveera cremated in presence of hundreds of mourners

Kundapur, April 2, 2013  :  The mortal remains of Krishnaiah Mogaveera, a man hailing from Hemmady in Kundapur who lost his life in a firing by French troops in Central African Republic in a case of mistaken identity, was brought to his hometown on April 1, Monday evening and laid to rest.

Hundreds of people including family, friends and well wishers had gathered to pay their last respects to  the departed  soul. The wife and children of Krishnaiah were inconsolable with grief.


As already reported, Krishnaiah Mogaveera who was working in a pharmaceutical company in the CAR since the past few years had been to the airport to enquire about the flights back to India, when the French troops which were on guard outside the Bangui airport opened fire mistaking them for terrorists.


Earlier on April 1, French consul general from Bangalore and Press Attache had met the bereaved family and had assured  compensation from the French government.
