Kundapur: Kota police crack mystery behind suspicious death of youth; arrest friend

Udupi, Feb 04, 2015:  Kota police who were investigating into the case of suspicious death of Vijay Karanth (31) at Karkada near Saligrama on February 2,  have cracked the mystery behind the case with the arrest of one Sharath Poojary (33) said to be a friend and neighbour of the deceased.

It has now come to light that Sharath stabbed Vijay after a fight between the two over some issue.   In fact the accused and his family members had earlier tried to hide their guilt by pretending to help Vijay’s family. It was the family of Sharath which had earlier informed the locals that Vijay was found in a critical state due to excessive intake of alcohol.

The deceased Vijay  was a local cricketer and even played in state level tournaments.
