Kundapur: Govt employee behind bars for ditching Kumta woman

Kundapur, June 8, 2015:  A man hailing from Kundapur, who worked in a government department in Kumta has been arrested by the police on June 7, Sunday on the charges of ditching a woman.

The accused identified as Rakesh had reportedly befriended the woman from Kumta and after promising to marry her had developed physical relations with her. The woman who realised that she was cheated when he eventually ditched her, had lodged a complaint at Amasebail Police Station.

The complainant said she came to know Rakesh while he worked in Kumta. The accused has been booked under Sections 376 and 417 of the IPC and has been subject to medical examination after he was produced before the court.

Though efforts were made by the families of Rakesh and that of the woman to settle the matter amicably, it proved to be a futile exercise.
