Kundapur: Case registered against Money lender for threatening farmer

Kundapur: July 17, 2015: The police have registered a case at Gangoli police station, Kundapur against a person for threatning a farmer and charging high amount of interest.

 

It is learnt that Lesly Rebello, a resident of Senapura village in Kundapur taluk had borrowed a loan of Rs. 5 Lakh from Umesh Shetty on December 17, 2013, with the promise of paying it within three months.


As Rebello could not pay the amount, he gave a written undertaking of paying it a year and pledged his land on January 29, 2014.

But on July 13, 2015, Umesh shetty and others barged into the house of Mr. Rebello and threatned him to pay the Rs. 5 lac and with the interest of Rs 15 lakh within a week , Shetty also threatned him to destroy his house with an earthmover.
