Kundapur : Car fatally knocks down young cyclist; another injured

Kundapur, Nov 24, 2015: A teenager  lost his life while his friend sustained injuries when the bicycle in which the two were returning home from school was hit by a Maruti Swift car near the Nagoor Anjaneya Temple on November 23, Monday.

 

The deceased boy is Nagesh while the injured is Akshay. Both are 16 years of age and SSLC students of Kirimanjeshwara Government High School. It has been gathered that the Swift car which knocked down the two boys had fled the place and was stopped by locals after it hit another car. Eyewitnesses said the Maruti Swift driver had taken a sudden right turn taking the two boys unawares. Nagesh died on the spot in the mishap.

Locals say even he  four-laning of the highway which  has left little space for the vehicles to move was  to be blamed for the mishap.
