Kundapur : Bus conductor misbehaves with lady passenger; gets roughed up

Kundapur, July 26, 2015: A bus conductor who reportedly misbehaved with a lady passenger was beaten up by locals  at the Koteshwar Bus stand area on July 25, Saturday.

 

Sources said the accused named Babanna (28) of Kokkarne had tried to misbehave with the passenger while sliding the window when it started to rain. The bus named Sri Laxmi was on way to Kokkarne from Kundapur when this incident took place.

Upon reaching upon, the woman told her brother about the incident and soon some locals waited for the bus to return and intercepted it near Koteshwar and assaulted the conductor.

The incident sparked some amount of tension in the area. But the timely intervention of the Kundapur police helped in  bringing the situation under control.

The conductor has been taken into custody and further investigations are in progress.
