Kundapur : 3 dead ; 2 injured as ambulance rams into lorry at Kota

Kundapur, Oct 27, 2018: Three persons lost their lives in a  horrific accident involving an ambulance and a  lorry at Manoor near  Kota  during the wee hours of October 27, Saturday. Two others sustained injuries in the mishap.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Ullas Talekar  and his relative Ashok of Karwar. The accident occurred when the family of Ullas, a heart patient was  on way to admit him to the AJ Hospital in Mangaluru from a hospital in Karwar.

It is said  the ambulance driver lost control over the vehicle when it reached Kota Manoor  at around 1.30 am. The vehicle overturned after ramming into the divider and colliding against the lorry which was on the other side of the road.

Ullas’s wife Saritha who has sustained serious injuries have been admitted to the KMC Hospital at Manipal. The ambulance driver Raghavendra sustained minor injuries.

Kota Police have registered a case.
