Kundapur: 2 yr old baby slips to death; mother who jumped into well rescued

Kundapur , Apr 23, 2015: An eleven month old baby boy met a watery grave after he accidentally fell into the well  at Kandlur here on April 22 evening.

 

The tragedy took place when Shaista, the mother of the baby was feeding   him after making him sit on the parapet of the well near their house close by the Rama Mandir at Kandlur at around 7.30 pm. Though a shocked Shaista on seeing her baby fall, also jumped into the well, she was  rescued by the locals who rushed to the spot. The doctors however pronounced the baby dead while it was brought to the hospital.

The baby’s father Sarfaraz was employed in Dubai and Shaista stayed with her in-laws at Kandlur. The funeral of the baby was held the same night.
