Kundapur : 2 arrested for robbing and assaulting Kollur GP Chief

Kundapur, Oct 22, 2016:  Two men who had allegedly waylaid the bike of Kollur Gram Panchayat President and  assaulted and robbed him  have been  arrested  by the police. The incident had taken place at Dali near Kollur on October 20.

 

The arrested are Narendra Babu (27) from Magadi in Ramanagar district and  Mohan Kumar alias Moni (27) from Bhadravathi. Even the car used by them to commit the crime  has been seized. The duo was arrested  at Areshirur village near Byndoor.

 The GP Chief named Uday Sherugar (49) from Subbarasana Toplu in Kollur was  heading home on Thursday morning when  six persons who came by a car intercepted his bike. They had attacked him with an iron rod, sprayed chilly powder  on his eyes and  robbed him of his cell phone worth Rs 8000 and  cash of Rs 1000.
