Kumble excise officials seize Rs 2.87 crore hawala money; one person arested

Kasargod, July 14, 2020:    Kumble excise officials  have  busted a hawala racket and have seized Rs 2.87 crore hawala money apart from  gold ornaments weighing 20 sovereigns. A person identified as Irshad (33) from Mangaluru has been arrested in connection with the   case.

 

 

 

A car  which was carrying the hawala money and was proceeding  on the National Highway at Toominadu  had sped forth on seeing the excise officials.  Sensing something suspicious, the officials chased the vehicle and  ultimately managed to  intercept it. On checking, cash and gold was found. The cash seized included currency notes of 2000 and 500 denominations.

Manjeshwar police are conducting investigations.
