Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at Shakthi Residential School

Mangaluru, August 12, 2020: The birth of Lord Krishna, believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is an annual Hindu festival celebrated as Janmashtami or Gokulashatami.

It is usually observed on the eighth day or Ashtami of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan or Bhadrapad. This year, Virtual Janmashtami celebrations began on 10th August for the little kids of Shakthi, wherein they were asked to fill in colours for Krishna sketch and to dress up like Yashoda  Krishna. Grade 3 & 4 students dressed up as BalaKrishna and also participated in Krishna drawing Competition.

The students of Grade 5,6 & 7 put in their imagination to depict the Krishna Bala Leela, sang Krishna Bhajan with their family and decorated a Bansuri. Decorating a Dahi Handi with the family was an interesting task given to the students of grade 8 & 9 along with a Dance competition and painting
