Koodlu Co-op Bank robbery case : 2 more arrested; 8 kg stolen gold recovered

Kasargod, Oct 26, 2015 : Police have recovered nearly eight kgs of gold  and a cash of Rs 5.25 lakhs from the two persons arrested in connection with the Koodlu Co-operative Bank robbery case. Those arrested are Mujeeb (27) from Chowki and Fenix Netto alias Joemon (30) from Ernakulam.

Informing his to reporters here, SP  A Srinivas also stated that a car which the accused had purchased using the stolen cash has also been seized. With the arrest of the two, police have so far  apprehended eight persons including Kallangai Sharief, said to be the prime accused. Meanwhile, police have also launched a search for another accused named Reji who hails from Idukki.

Mujeeb was  arrested on October 24, Saturday while he was travelling in a Cherkala-Mulleria route bus.  On enquiry he revealed that he was staying with Fenix Netto in a rented house at Virajpete near Madikeri. The gold and  cash were recovered from the rented  house and Netto  was arrested  from a private hospital at Udmalpete near Coimbatore. It is learnt, he was suffering from Malaria.


If a total of 17.684 kg gold and cash of Rs 12.50 lakh was stolen from the bank on September 7, police had earlier seized 7.5 kg from Bandyodu  near Kumble apart from 350 grams gold from Karim who was apprehended in Goa.
