Konkani ’Samvaad’ with new Sahitya Academy President

Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2019:  Prominent Konkani literary personalities under the banner of ’Konkani Bhasha Mandali Karnataka, Mangaluru’  held a ’Samvaad’ (workshop) November 17, Sunday on the various aspects of Konkani development. and the future course of action.  The aim was to interact and honour the newly appointed Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy President Dr.Jagadish Pai Karkal chaired the meet. The meet was coordinated by Venkatesh Baliga Mavinkurve. A powerpoint by an expert and researcher on the origin and development of Konkani over 950 years was an interesting part of the workshop. 

 

 

 

 

A number of Konkani writers, drama and playrites, mucus, teachers and those interested and working for Konkani development took part.
Suggestions and queries on the many needs of Konkani were clarified  by  Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy President Dr.Jagadish Pai Karkal and matters were smoothed out for the future. The subject of lipi and the 25th anniversary of  Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy received deserved attention.  The direction to take for the new team of the academy in the next 3 years was reviewed and there was a good consensus among the various groups of Konkani.
