Kodimbala double murder case: Duo gets life imprisonment

Puttur, Feb 26, 2017: The Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court has given life term imprisonments to convicted two persons in the case of murder of a couple reported from Undila in Kodimbala village on September 25, 2012. The two accused were charged with murdering Baby Thomas and his wife, Mary Thomas from Undila in a barbaric manner.

The two accused were  Mohammad Rafiq alias Rafiq from Somwarpet taluk and Mohammad Kamaluddin of Nuriyalu in Uuruvalu village  of Beltangady taluk.

The duo had approached Baby Thomas on the midnight of September 25, 2012 stating that their  bike had developed technical  snag and they needed his help to reach the  home of the wife of one of them which was nearly 1.5 km away.

 Baby Thomas agreed to give a lift to them in his Tata Indica Car. However when the three were heading towards the place,  the duo asked Thomas to stop the car near Bollur cross and stabbed  him. The duo later arrived in the house of Baby Thomas and slit the throat of Mary Thomas and escaped with cash and gold in the house.

The Kadaba police  had arrested the duo and  instigations had revealed that they had sold the jewels at a shop in Somwarapete.
