Kodikere Shivaraj murder : Lifer for Kulai youth

Mangaluru, Jan 2, 2017 :  The judgement in the Kodikere Shivaraj murder case of 2012  is out.  Kulai resident Dinesh (29) who was arrested in connection with the case has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court   which passed the judgement on December 31, Saturday.

Another accused in the case named Prakash was murdered in 2014 allegedly by the Kodikere gang.

Shivaraj was found dead near the railway track at Jokatte on July 20,2012. It was then alleged that Dinesh and Prakash had hacked him to death  at the instructions of a person named Ashraf who was reportedly in hiding in Saudi Arabia.

The court has also slapped a penalty of Rs 5000 on  Dinesh  and a one year sentence for murder conspiracy and culpable homicide. The court has directed that the amount  be given to the Shivaraj family  as compensation.

Meanwhile, the police have issued a lookout notice for Ashraf.
