Kodi communal clashes: Cops arrest six accused

Kundapur, Jan 14, 2015:  As many as six persons have been arrested by the Kundapur police  with regard to January 11, Sunday night’s clashes in Kodi area of Kundapur  and the  attack on a youth in the aftermath of the clash.

 If four  namely Sadvik, Arshad, Abdul Rahiman and Zakir were arrested  for being involved in the clashes, Ranjan and Raesh were arrested for assaulting  an innocent youth following the clash, as an act of vengeance.

The clashes between two groups of different communities had left Bharath (17) and Ranjith (22) injured.

All the arrested have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Peace meet held: Meanwhile, a peace meet was held on January 12, Monday evening in the aftermath of the clash. During the meet, the police assured to install CCTV cameras at some sensitive spots P M Divakar, Kundapur circle inspector said the CCTV cameras will be installed at Koteshwar, Kodi and Halavalli. Several locals participated in the meet.
