Knowledge update on tech advancements advised, NCETSE 2019

Mangaluru, Apr 27, 2019: Dr P G Diwakar Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Scientific Secretary, has appealed to students and researchers to keep themselves informed of the technological advancements.  “If we fail to update ourselves, we will be losers,” he said at the inaugural ceremony of a two-day national conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Science and Engineering (NCETSE 2019)’ organised at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, on April 26, Friday.

He said a lot of research work is being conducted around the world. It is a known fact that tools and technology are changing every day, he remarked.

Dr Diwakar also said that ISRO is one among six countries in the world which have a complete space programme. Thanks to the commitment and determination of scientists of ISRO, India became the first country in the world that could land on Mars in its very first attempt. ISRO, with its space technology, is contributing to various aspects to help the common people lead a better life, he said.

Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust Secretary Ratnakumar presided over the programme.

Dr Paresh Chandra Deka, professor, Department of Applied Mechanics, NITK Surathkal, Dr Arun Isloor, professor, Department of Chemistry NITK and Dr G S Dwarakish, professor, Department of Applied Mechanics, NITK delivered talks at different sessions. Several research papers are being presented by researchers, academics and students in the seminar.
