Kite fest on Malpe beach on December 31

Mangaluru, Dec 25, 2018: Addressing officials at a preparatory meeting, on December 24, Saturday, Udupi DC  Priyanka Mary Francis said the Beach Kite Festival will be held at Malpe beach on December 31.  She said a variety of cultural programmes have also been planned on the occasion.

 

“Around 40 participants will take part in Kite festival from 10 am to 6 pm. LED balloons will also be sold from 6 pm to 8 pm on the occasion.”

She said a workshop on ‘Preparation of Kites’ will be held for those with a passion for flying kites.  The cultural programmes will have ‘Panchavadya’, ‘Koraga Dolu,’ ‘Hulivesha band,’ ‘Nasik band,’ ‘Nagari band’ and ‘World Music band’ from 6.30 pm onwards. An attractive display of firecrackers will begin from midnight, she added.
