Mangaluru May 23, 2016: Nethravathi Rakshana Samyuktha Samithi President Vijay Kumar Shetty has strongly condemned State Health Minister UT Khader’s statements pertaining to Yettinahole Project and demanded that the Minister should tender an apology to the people. "The Minister has no right to make his own decisions regarding the Project," said Shetty.
Addressing the Press at Hotel Woodlands on Monday May 23, Shetty appreciated the positive response of the people towards the voluntary bundh which was supported by nearly 150 organisations which have stood firm against Yettinahole project.
He also said that there was a need to plan a meet with CM Siddaramaiah through MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and discuss the issues pertaining to Yettinahole Project.
Activist MG Hegde who also spoke, lashed out at UT Khader for his statement and added that the minister instead should have appealed to the Chief Minister to reconsider the project.
" UT Khader need to withdraw his statement, lest people of Dakshina Kannada will definitely fight back and make UT Khader pay for it," warned MG Hegde.
He appreciated senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary for his stand against Yettinahole project and for countering UT Khader for his controversial statement.
Former Mayor Purushottam Chitrapur, Yogesh Shetty, Nagaraj, Anand Shetty and others were present.
