Khader denies irregularities in drugs purchase; says ready for probe

Mangaluru, May 23, 2016: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has refuted allegations made by  BBMP’s former corporator NR  Ramesh that there have  been widespread irregularities in purchase of drugs under National Health Mission.

 

 

Speaking to reporters here on May 22, Sunday, the minister said he was ready for any investigation  and also declared that he would retire from politics if the allegations against him were proved. He also made it clear that only Rs 15 crore was earmarked for purchase of drugs though a sum of Rs 42 crore was allocated to the Karnataka Drugs Logistics and Warehousing Society, under the National Health Mission.

On Yettinahole Project, he said there was no question of stopping it and at the same time said the implementation of the project could have been stopped by senior leader Janardhana Poojary had he been the MP of the region.

Khader said more importance should now  be attached towards the implementation of the Paschima Vahini project aimed at constructing check dams along Netravathi and Kumaradhara rivers with the objective of  recharging undergound water.

The Minister also informed that approval has been given for the setting up of a water sports centre at Ullal beach.
