Khader PA assault case: 6 months jail for convicted duo

Mangaluru, Oct 29, 2017: The Special Court and 2nd Additional District and Sessions Court of the city has sentenced two persons to six months imprisonment  for assaulting and abusing the personal assistant of State Minister UT Khader.

Those convicted are Vinod Kumar (34) and Prakash (36). Another accused in the case Sujeer (33) is absconding. The Minister’s personal assistant who is also an employee of Mangalore University, Praveen Kumar (37) of Bejai Kapikad was assaulted on the night of April 7, 2010. The trio had  abused and assaulted Praveen when he had been  to meet a friend Rajesh at a hotel in Ullal. A case was registered under the  Prevention of Atrocities on Dalits Act. The then Panambur DySP had filed a charge sheet in the court.
