Kaup: Congress stages huge protest against Land Ordinance

Udupi, Apr 10, 2015: The Kaup Block Congress organised a huge protest near the Kaup Market on April 9, Thursday to oppose the Land Ordinance of  the NDA Government at the Centre.

 

Addressing the protestors, Vinay Kumar Sorake, State Urban Development Minister and Udupi District in-charge Minister  said the Land Ordinance only aims at  helping the corporates at the cost of the farmers.

 There is a need for a united fight against this Land Acquisition Bill, he said.

Oscar Fernandes, senior Congress leader and former union minister demanded that the Union Government should drop the Bill which  would hit hard the farming community and the poor.

Former MLA Gopal Bhandary,  KPCC secretary M A Gafoor, Kaup North Block Congress President Sudhir Hegde, Naveenchandra J Shetty, Kaup South Block Congress President  and many party men participated in the protest.
