Kateel Goddess insult case: Chikkamagaluru man arrested; main accused in Gulf?

Mangaluru, Sep 10, 2016 : Police who are investigating into the case wherein the Kateel Goddess was offended in a Facebook post, have arrested a person from Chikkamagaluru in this connection. It has been gathered that the arrested person has  made several  revelations on the basis of which the police could  get hints about the prime accused in the case.

The police have refused to divulge more details regarding the arrested person. It is said he was not the main accused, but had  committed the act at the behest of others.

The main accused in this case are said to be in the Gulf and all of them are of Dakshina Kannada origin who are employed overseas. Sources also revealed that they had used the Chikkamagaluru man as an intermediary to get their works done by opening a fake FB account  through him and make abusive posts through it.  It has also been gathered  that they used to keep the fake FB account active for a couple of two days and then delete the same. They also had a WhatsApp Group.

It is being said that the police here would need the help of the Centre in tracking down the accused who are overseas.

Already, the Mangaluru Police Commissioner has formed three teams to investigate the case  and the teams are working in co-ordination with the Cyber Crime Division.
