Kasargod: Zubaida murder case; Two accused arrested

Kasargod, Feb 02, 2018 : Police have arrested two persons on February 02, Friday in ac case connected to the murder of elderly woman Zubaida at her residence in Uduma Ayyampara on January 17.

Abdul Khader(26)of Madhur Patla and  Abdul Azeez (23) of Kudrepadi are identified as the accused arrested.

Reports said that Zubaida was staying alone in the house, as neighbours did not notice her from past two days went to her house to enquire, but saw her bieng tied up and was lying dead . They immdiately informed  police about the incident. It was noticed  that the house was locked from outside but there were two glasses of juice  placed on the table. The bangles and the chain which she used to wear regularly were also missing.

Acting on tip police have arrested Khader and Azeez today. Investigations revealed that the duo had been to Zubaida’s house on January 17, as they were known to her she offered them juice. They had visted her with the intention to rob her. Azeez held her face with the chloroformed cloth, later strangled Zubaida to death . They fled away with the jewelry and other valuables. Kasargod police with the help of cyber crime cell have been able to trace and nab the accused.

They have confiscated five and half sovereign of gold and two cars which were robbed from Zubaida’s house. Investigations are underway.
