Kasargod: Teachers violently attacked by ABVP activists for not supporting strike

Kasargod: June 25, 2015:  The police have arrested the ABVP activists for violently attacking female teachers of Duga Higher Secondary school for not supporting the Bandh called by them.

The protest was called seeking resignation of Kerala Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb over delay in supplying textbooks, smashed the door of the Principal’s office. Two senior lady teachers and three students fell unconscious when the mob turned against them.

 

The activists barged into the school office room through the closed main gate. The scene occurred around 12 noon when the agitators, seeking suspension of classes for the day, engaged in heated altercation and allegedly manhandled the teachers when they refused to heed their demand.

 

The activists vandalised doors and windows attached to the office of Principal M.K. Basmathi and headmaster H. Srihari Bhat. They also smashed the school telephone and furniture.

It is learn that they received outside support from Bharatiya Masdoor Sangh (BMS) and BJP local leaders.

 

The mob did not spare even the PTA office-bearers of the school. The police rounded up ABVP district president Vaishakh Keloth from the school and two other activists from the Principal’s cabin.
