Kasargod, Dec 31, 2018: The Anti-Naxal Force has swung into action following information that a group of suspected Naxals were spotted in the forest areas on the border of Kannur and Wayanad districts of Kerala.
The ANF was keenly monitoring any suspicious activity in the forest areas of the region, SP A Srinivas has informed. Some locals who spotted the Naxals say there were a total of ten of them with guns in hands and that they were heard raising slogans in support of their organisation. The Naxals, it is learnt were seen at Talappuzha, Tottiyoor and nearby areas.
It is learnt the suspected Naxals were speaking in Malayalam. They had reportedly purchased essentials from a shop and later distributed pamphlets named `Katu Thee’ (Forest Fire) to locals.
Several pro-Naxal posters criticizing the wall of women campaign in Kerala have also been spotted.
