Kasargod: Man convicted for murdering 17 year old girl

 Kasargod Feb 5, 2016: Kasargod Session court convicted a person for killing 17 Year old girl in 2006.Fathimath Zuhara (17) resident of Kumble was murdered by slitting her throat by BM Umar Byari (33) resident of Ujire .

He found guilty of murder, attempt to rape, illegal entry in to the house and other charges.Umar was a laborer in the garden of Uluvaru Mosque. Zuhara was murdered at her home when she was fast asleep. He entered her home from the roof of her house, he grew angry as Zuhra refuse to reciprocate his advances which made him to slit Zuhara’s throat.

Police able to trace Umar and remanded in judicial custody. He succeeded in getting bail and gone underground, Police able to track him in 2014 at Nasik.

There were no witnesses in the case and judgment was pronounced based on circumstantial evidence.
