Kasargod : Man arrested in fraud case gives cops a slip

Kasargod, Dec 13, 2014: A man who was arrested by the police on the charges of cheating many persons to the tune of nearly Rs 50 crores, has escaped from the lock-up  during the wee hours of December 12, Friday.

The man named Jalaluddin (30) from Malapuram Kondotti was arrested on charges of  with collecting gold jewels  from several people after promising interest-free loans from banks.

It has been gathered that the police station where he was placed lacked police personnel and taking advantage of this Jalaluddin quietly gave the cops a slip as even the lock-up was not locked.

 Police had earlier gathered clue about Jalaluddin after one Mustafa from Kallittodi Malappuram who was cheated by Jalaluddin had allegedly ended his life two months ago owing to  frustration.

Even a jeweller had lodged a complaint against Jalaluddin alleging that  he  who had taken some jewellery had failed to make the payment.

Police are now on the lookout for Jalaluddin.
