Kasargod Hindu outfit leader arrested for provocative speech in Bantwal

Bantwal, Sep 22, 2018: Vitla Police have arrested a person named Manjunath Udupa (32) who is the District Secretary of Kasargod Hindu Aikya Vedike on the charges of  offending Islam and delivering a provocative speech.

It has been learnt that Udupa had delivered the provocative speech during the  Janmashtami programme  at Kadambu village in Bantwal on September 9. Police also said that the organisers of the programme had also used loud speakers  without requisite permit.

The complaint was filed by Kadambu Jama Masjid which had named Udupa who was the organiser of the programme. Even those present at the dais including  Ramesh Poojary, BK Krishnappa Salian, Varadaraj Kottari and Bhasker Tailor were mentioned in the complaint.
