Kasargod: Excise official caught red-handed for taking bribe

Kasargod Sep 01, 2016:  An excise official arrested  by Anti Corruption Officer at Manjeshwar Check post on August 31, Wednesday for taking bribe from Inter-State Vehicles .

The arrested excise officer is Ranjith (35).The action was taken on him by Vigilance officer on the complaint.

It is said that the Anti Corruption Officer had offered 100 Rs to the truck driver prior. The officer had kept an eye on Ranjith. On Wednesday when   truck passed through the check post in Manjeshwar  Ranjith had charged Rs100 for the same truck driver, which the vigilance officer noticed it.  He was caught red-handed.

It is learnt that Ranjith charge Rs100 for the inter-state a vehicles regularly. There were several complaints on him that he had earned lakhs of rupees bribing.
