Kasargod: Driver dies, many injured as private bus overturns

Kasargod, Mar 19, 2024: A private bus on way to Kannur from Mangaluru overturned at Chalingal on the Kasargod National Highway on March 18, Monday evening resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to nearly 20 passengers including students.

 

The deceased driver is Chethan Kumar (37) from Madhur. The mishap took place while negotiating a curve at Chalingal near the Periya GP office. The driver lost control over the bus which eventually overturned. Locals, police and fire service personnel helped in the rescue operation and shifting the injured to the hospital. The bus was moving on an alternate route in view of the toll booth works.
