Praveen TogadiaKasargod, Dec 14, 2014: A court in Kanhangad has declared Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Praveen Togadia as an absconder in connection with a provocative hate speech at a VHP convention in Kanhangad on 30 April 2011.

Hosdurg Judicial First Class Magistrate Court issued summons to Praveen Togadia to appear before the court, but he failed to do so. As Togadia did not appear in the court despite repeated warrants, the Hosadurga court has now declared him as an absconding accused.

During the last hearing in the case, the court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him. When the matter came up for hearing on Friday, the police informed the court that they had not been able to trace him.
