Kasargod : BJP worker arrested for killing CPM activist over previous enmity

Kasargod, July 01, 2014:  Police have arrested one Rajesh (34) of Panattur, a BJP worker  on the charges of killing a CPM-DYFI activist at Panattadi on June 29. Sunday night. A previous enmity is said to the cause of the murder.

Rajesh had stabbed to death Abdul Sharief (23) of Panattur Pariyara. It is said there was an altercation between Rajesh and Sharief at Panattur town  during a protest rally taken out by  BJP  condemning the death of BJP worker and auto driver Arun Lal on June 25. The BJP workers had then questioned Sharief  who was riding a bike. On Sunday night, it is learnt, Sharief entered into an altercation with Rajesh  culminating in the death of the former.

Though locals rushed Sharief to the hospital, he had breathed his last by then.  The deceased was a lorry driver. The Panattadi unit of the CPM observed a hartal in Panattadi on June 30, Monday in protest against the murder.
