Kasargod: Autorickshaw driver hacked to death by friend

Kasargod, June 27, 2014 : A young autorickshaw driver was hacked to death by  his friend who was  under the influence of alcohol at Chamundikunnu  late night on June 25, Wednesday.

The deceased autorickshaw driver is Arun Lal (22), of Pulikkadavu.  Biju(38) who was also attacked by the assailant has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore with critical injuries.

The incident occurred when Arunlal along with Biju and Jose had been to Shivapura to attend a programme on Wednesday night. However, while returning, Arun did not allow Jose to  travel in his autorickshaw as he was under the influence of alcohol. However, Jose who was furious, followed Arun Lal’s autorickshaw, intercepted it and attacked him with a knife. Biju who tried to prevent him was also injured.

Though locals who rushed to the spot,  admitted Arun Lal to Hospital, he had breathed his last by then. The accused Jose, a chicken trader has been booked by the Rajapura police.
