Kasargod: Ancient idols stolen from Bhagavathi Temple, Chittarikal

Kasargod, May 28, 2015: A Panchaloha idol of Goddess Bhagavathi and a brass idol of Goddess Sridevi were stolen from the Kunnungai Srikammadam Bhagavathi Temple at Chittarikal on the night of May 26, Tuesday.

The theft came to light when the priest of the temple arrived on the morning of May 27 for the pooja. The thieves had broken the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine to steal the valuable idols.

Vellarikundu police are conducting the investigations.
