Kasargod : A honey trapping like incident near Kumble

Kasargod, May 31,2017 : In a honey trapping like case reported from Kubanoor near Kumble, a lady who was making a door to door visit  seeking alms  ostensibly  with the abetment of a gang  has victimised a man named  Aboobakker (39) of Pachchambala in Bandyodu who only tried to save a neighbour whom the gang tried to honey trap.

It is said that  Aboobakker’s neighbour on seeing he lady at the doorstep had gone inside to get money when the gang which was in hiding entered his house  and forced him to pose for photographs with the lady and began blackmailing  him  by demanding a cash  of Rs 25,000, taking advantage of the fact that he was alone at the house, The house owner agreed to pay and the gang also  robbed the cell phone of the man’s wife.

However, when the gang again placed a demand for Rs 50,000 the man was unwilling only  to face danger to his life as the assailants tried to strangle him. At this juncture, Aboobakker tried to help the man only to be  intercepted and beaten up by the gang later on May 29, Monday when he was on his motorbike.

A police complaint has been lodged and investigations are underway.
