Kasargod: 2 teenagers meet watery grave in pond

Kasargod, Aug  09, 2015:  Two teenagers have met a watery grave while swimming in a pond at Uduma on August 8, Saturday.

The deceased boys have been identified as Sumodh and Akshay. Both are 16 years of age. It is learnt, the boys decided to swim in the pond after playing in a nearby area for some time. However, they soon began to drown.

Though residents of the area rushed to the spot on hearing their screams,  the lives of the boys could not be saved as the pond water had much depth.

The bodies were later retrieved by fire service personnel and the post-mortem was done at the Kasargod Government Hospital.

A case has been registered by Bekal Police.
