Kasargod: 2 drug traffickers arrested; 52 kg ganja seized

Kasargod, May 15, 2013:   Two persons were arrested on the charges of drug trafficking in Kasargod, by a team of police officials led by Circle Inspector K Sunil Kumar. Ganja weighing 52 kg which was hidden in a specially made compartment in the roof of the vehicle in the Tata Sumo in which they were travelling has been seized.

The arrest followed a tip off. Those arrested are KA Nawaz (32)from  Kottayam, and C H Saleem (32) of Neeleshwar. Interrogations of the accused revealed that they were transporting the ganja to Uppala from Kottayam.

It may be mentioned here that as much as two quintals of ganja has been seized in various operations in the district during the past two months.
