Kasargod : 2 accused in bank burglary cases attempt suicide in police stations

Kasargod, Oct 7, 2015 :  In developments that have been a cause of worry for the Kasargod police who have earned acclaim for cracking the mystery behind the Eriyal Koodlu Serice Co-operative Bank and Vijaya Bank, Chervattur burglary cases, two of the accused tried to end their lives in the police stations on October 5, Monday night.

Rajesh  Murali said to be the second accused in the Vijaya Bank burglary case who was arrested on October 5, Monday  and was handed over to the Hosadurga Police Station had reportedly tried to commit suicide  by slitting his wrist using a blade even as interrogations were underway.


Luckily, he could not damage his nerve.But soon after he  even tried to slit his throat using the same blade.


The police who intervened rushed him to the hospital. He was later discharged and produced before the court.

In another case, Kottarakara resident Shishupal (40) who was arrested in connection with the Eriyal bank case from near the Mangaluru railway station on Monday  was interrogated at the Kasargod  Police Station. When Shishupal who had later  entered the toilet did not return for a long time, the  police grew suspicious and broke open he door to see him trying to hang himself using his lungi.

It is said he remains in a critical condition in a hospital in Mangaluru.
